Flowering date palm

But even more impressive, at this season of the year, are the date palm trees in its courtyard.

Looks like there will be a lot of dates eventually! I don't think I've ever actually seen a date palm; however if I want to drive a couple hours out into the desert, there is an annual date festival in the town of Indio. One of these days . . .
