It is interesting to note that these traditions are still celebrated in Austria. It surprises me, actually, which only proves how little I know! The scenes you share here make me wonder about my great grandmother's resting place somewhere in Germany (I have seen photos) that looks so similar. Her and her family. I wonder if anyone in that little town also carries on these wonderful old traditions. No family I know of is left there to remember them or care. Sad.
Beautiful light in these shots, Dina.
ReplyDeleteMy sister, who passed away at 38, is buried in a small cemetery in the woods.
ReplyDeleteThe red candles make quite an impression of one visits at night.
A beautiful way to remember love ones .
