A bed for Tu BiShvat

.

Tonight/tomorrow is the Jewish holiday Tu BiShvat, the birthday of our trees.

I would like to make my bed among trees in a liman in the desert, with stars above, and jackal calls as a lullaby.

  3. Your written copy is intriguing, and the photo even more so.

I remember your post about the jackals. Reminiscent of coyotes, but not exactly the same.

  4. I would also like to sleep on that bed and enjoy the beautiful light of the first photo.

  5. Friends, the light you notice is the minute of the setting sun.

  6. Love this Dina, trees deserve much more respect than they get in many parts of the world.

  7. Jackal calls as a lullaby? With a rifle at hand...

  8. Never thought of moving the entire bed to nest under the stars. Gonna think about this one. Happy Birthday trees.

  10. Dina, this just harks back - for me - to your article for Frankie's newsletter, a FEW years back, about the donkeys under the Heifer Hilton, waking you up in the morning. (Did I get that anywhere near right??) <3 - Janet

  11. Birdman, yeah, I meant to say I wonder who brought a nice bed out into the desert!

    Janet, it's you! Shalom!
Well, 1996-2002 was a long time ago. I only remember trying to sleep 2 or 3 times in the Heifer Hilton at Heifer Ranch. The bunk beds were very hard and the night was very long. It was nice sleeping above my donkeys, but I have no idea what I wrote about it.

  12. I love this. It sounds so idyllic. However, in Hawaii I would be eaten alive by mosquitoes.
