Wind-whipped palms

.

You could tell the direction of this morning's cold strong wind by the direction of the palm branches.
Despite the gray sky, the Negev did not get rained on.
Today's rain, and even some snow, fell more to the north.

We visited Idan HaNegev, a big industrial park that is being built near the Bedouin city of Rahat.
The huge SodaStream plant is already in operation there, and we got to go in to see and hear the machines and the workers.
More on that in future posts.

  2. Wow, the wind is really blowing. I'd feel right at home. Here in Oklahoma when the wind stops blowing, a lot of us get dizzy.

  6. You see to be doing lots of touring lately! Thanks for taking us along with you. I'm glad you are out of that cold wind in the (hopefully) warm bus.

  7. We have Israeli house guests this week and my old fashioned Hebrew has been getting a bit of a workout. Nonetheless I still heard all about the snow and rain in the North.

  8. Dina , what is Soda Stream? Is it the name of the factory or a drink??

  9. Alice, it's both. I'll post on it tomorrow.

  10. There's nothing worse than wind and clouds, with the slight hope of rain and not a drop falls. Happens here often in summer Dina.
P.s. yes the national anthem is still sung on official occasions. The problem on Australia Day is that understandably the indigenous Australians, who were here first, aren't happy about having to celebrate invasion. A bit of sensitivity in changing the date would be the right thing to do I think.
