Where'd everybody go?

.
I've been negligent lately in my blogging and blog-visiting, but I have an excuse!
I've been preparing for, partly hosting, and then emotionally recovering from an all-too-short visit of my family from Australia.

Under welcome clouds and a welcoming committee of birds, my Naomi, Dean, Eyal, and Libby and I walked over to our local "desert."

It was the day of the Sukkot holiday, so everyone else must have been dwelling in their sukkas or away on vacation or napping, because we were the only ones out and about.
Imagine having the whole Meitar Forest to yourself for your picnic.

Then we headed home on the dusty Israel Trail.

Naomi had everyone hose off the dust from their shoes and feet, because the very next day they would  be starting the long journey back, flying from Tel Aviv east to Hong Kong and then another long flight south to Sydney.

So for ABC Wednesday, N is for Naomi and her husband, (who had to continue on to some professional conferences in Europe) and their kids who were nice enough to come north to visit.
But for not nearly enough time.

  1. You had good reason to be away. It sounds like you enjoyed the company.

  2. Shalom Dina, I'm glad you were able to enjoy a visit from your far-away family but I know you miss them now that they've returned home. Looks like you had a good time while they were there. It's so hard to say good bye to loved ones when they live so far away. I hope all is well in your life otherwise these days.

  6. I'm glad you had such a lovely time with your family. It's always hard to say goodbye when it's time for them to leave though... xoxox

  7. I was away for three days. I write ahead, but my stock is being rapidly depleted. Meanwhile, I have plenty to write but no time to do so.

  9. That is so wonderful to have the family with you. Tif and family are coming next summer to stay with us for a month. I am so looking forward to that.

  10. So nice to have family visit, - I am always glad to see them, - some from just down the road and others from far away!

  11. Time is always too short when you meet family from afar. So precious moments to cherish in the heart.
    Take care

  15. Zongrik, yeah, well, I myself prefer hiking boots when I go walking there in the desert, especially after meeting a scorpion on the path once!

  16. How wonderful for you to have had a visit from your Australian family...quite a journey for them (nearly 24 hours?) and an emotional time for you.
I've thought of you often recently, as I'm sure many other blogger friends have, during the turbulent times in your part of the world.
As you did not pack up and fly to Sydney with your family, I'm guessing your faith is giving you the strength to get through.
    With much admiration,

  17. I suppose that any visit to Australia would be much to short :-) . I know that mine was, and I would have gone once more if it hadn't taken me 36 hours by plane.

Loved the shoes - glad you didn't have to walk to Australia!
