.
We Tiberias excavation volunteers were already hard at work at 6:13 a.m. last week when suddenly everyone started running for their cameras.
I, of course, thought "For SkyWatch Friday!"
A golden sunrise over the Sea of Galilee doesn't happen every day.
.
Now I am back home in Jerusalem, the scene of another rising into the sky some 2,000 years ago, according to Christian belief. A Son-rise.
Your Jewish friend wishes happy Ascension Day to all you Christians who celebrate today.

Thank you Dina! How attentive to think of this day! Your sunrise is very inspiring and a great start of the day.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is here with the family and we are happily enjoying our being together.
I should like to do me a favour, Dina. Next week I shall be away with the family, but I have an entry scheduled for ABC Wednesday. Could you please enter my name in the list of ABC.
It's: Reader Wil R for Røros

My photography is now available for purchase - visit Around the Island Photography and bring home something beautiful today!
Reminds me of California (except the flags would be multicolored and surrounding a used car lot)
ReplyDeleteA nice religious pun, I'm sorry this isn't a holiday here anymore.
ReplyDeletePerfect imagery in the photo to accompany Ascension, Dina!
ReplyDeleteLOL at your comment at My Manila re pistil packin' mama.

Magnificent sky picture. I am visiting with you via Patsy @ the Smith's, Bennie and Patsy.
ReplyDeleteYou certainly caught a gorgeous sunrise there! I love the reflection on the water.
ReplyDeleteAscension Day...I was just reading the selections for that in the Book of Common Prayer this morning, now that I know a bit more about the church calendar and was actually aware what day it is. It isn't much celebrated or talked about I think, these days. Thank you for the good wishes.
a great shot with this reflexion
ReplyDeleteGreat picture and pun!
ReplyDeleteI missed the Sonrise, but at least I have a hope to see the Sonset! (When Christ comes down the same way He went up - sets His foot in the same place!)
Hope you are enjoying your dig! - It's great that you share so much with us. Thanks!
