Orthodox Good Friday. A scene in glass

.

Orthodox Christians are now in Holy Week.
Good Friday for the Eastern Christians is called Great and Holy Friday.

While at the Green Pilgrimage symposium (about which I still have much to tell you) at Jerusalem's International YMCA,   I discovered three unusual stained glass religious windows.
They are mounted in an inner wall that divides two meeting rooms.
(Reflections from the real windows and from lights were unavoidable.)
.
I think this artwork is a painful reminder of a difficult day for Christians.

  1. they certainly are! I did not realize there was such a wide gap between our Holy Week with the Orthodox faith.

  4. Seems like I have not been here in ages. I don't get out and about as much these days as I am on oxygen 24/7 and while I do move, it is usually not far without O.

Your posts are as interesting as I remember them to be. You live in a place where lots of history took place.

It always makes me wonder what America was like when Jesus walked the streets of Jerusalem?

  6. There is a very nice and big Russian shop in our street, and they are selling Easter cakes, halfway between panettone and cupcakes. Sweet!
