Orthodox Christians are today celebrating the fourth Sunday of Lent, the Sunday of the Cross, centered of course in Jerusalem, in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
Dr. Sr. Vassa has a good short video which she describes as "a Lenten reflection on the Cross and other mysterious concepts."
It's a good one!

Interesting video from the Sister. I have some trouble with the traditional atonement theory, but there were other ways of looking at what happened ... maybe I'll write about this too :)
ReplyDeleteQuite a distinctive looking bible.
ReplyDeleteCrystal, yes, please do!
ReplyDeleteWilliam, it's not a Bible. It is a friend's Greek Orthodox prayer book. If I'm not mistaken, it is called the Holy Synekdemos.
Here is something about it:

An interesting video, Dina, but I've to watch it better because of my not fast connection.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice Monday :-)
I was trying to read the title of the book, thanks for the clarification!
ReplyDeleteI will have to check out your video. All I know of Lent is the giving up of something. I always knew when it was lent because we had a friend who would give up beer.
