Security on wheels

For the motorcyle lovers among us, here are the bikes I found at the Bridge of Strings ceremony in Jerusalem.
The Kawasaki KLE 500 is standard issue for Yasam, the police unit which specializes in riot and crowd control and other special operations.

  1. Looking at these pictures and some of your other pictures, I just can't keep wondering what it feels like to live in a city where security is always heightened. How do you feel yourself?

    Warm greetings from Bandung.

  2. Shalom Eki in Indonesia,
It's just the way of life here; we are used to it. But you are right, it could do with some more explaining. I'll try to post more on the subject this week.
But in short: Life is much more meaningful and serious and appreciated when you know that it may end the next minute.

  3. That was my question to. Machine guns keep popping up, it almost seems surreal.

I remember how I felt when Jen and I were wandering through Rome and stumbled across the embassy district, where there were a number of young (military) police were casually sending text messages while having sub-machine guns over their shoulders. It was an odd feeling, as I think up to that point, that sort of thing was confined to documentaries or movies.

  4. Gosh, Dina... Jon was telling me how he'd like to see Israel some day. This is making me nervous. Sarah's parents would probably really be mad at me then. But then again, I was afraid to go to Egypt at one time and it was safe as can be. I know you've told me that Israel has its safe and not so safe parts.

  7. Two wheel transport is far more quick and nimble so a good choice for security transportation the world over.
