That's My (Other) World

Jerusalem Hills Daily Photo is now in Australia, until early February, visiting family. Seems like this is a good time to be out of Israel, judging by the news. Sigh . . .
Yesterday my daughter took me and my two little grandsons by bus and train to Circular Quay. Thousands of tourists were down there but we found room on a beautiful ferry boat to Rose Bay and Watson's Bay. Sydney was in sunlight in the morning, but the sky over the city looked like this from the beach in Watson's Bay where we had a mid-afternoon fish and chips picnic. Very dramatic rain clouds.
It is so beautiful here--big sky, big country.

What a wonderful new place to relocate your blog, Dina. But I guess we'll miss your splendid country with all its history if you stayed definively in Australia.

Love the skyline!
Take a great time!
Happy New Year Dina, very sincerely.

Glad to hear you are with your family in beautiful, watery Australia.

You will have to find out what's going on in Israel like the rest of us...

Yes, I agree it is beautiful in Sydney. I stayed a few times in Cronulla. We also had trips by boat, it's always lovely.

beautiful Dina.

I pray for all innocent victims of this conflict and I am so happy for you my friend that you have left Israel for this holiday season when you did. Hopefully when you return this will be resolved if not perhaps you could extend your visit.

It does sound like you are having a beautiful time with your familly.

love and light.

When the tourists are in town you've really got to know where to go, and also all the shortcuts. Sounds like you do. Happy new year!

Dina, I am glad you are in Sydney for a decent brake. Glad you enjoyed fish and chips on the beach rather than at super expensive Doyle's at Watson's Bay.
I am so sorry about the escalation of strife in your home land.
I so very much wish for peace for the New Year and all those to follow.
When a situation is insoluble, it becomes even more so when the bullets fly, a little understanding and tolerance on both sides would serve much better.

Australia is on my list of places I'd like to visit. Thanks for sharing it through pictures. You were the first person I thought of when I hear of the current happenings in Israel. I'm glad your not there. Have a great time with your family.

The thought crossed my mind, Dina. I'm glad you're in Australia right now. Please stay there if the situation warrants. Or come see us in LA.

The innocent people of Israel and Palestine are in my heart.

Hi Dina.

I know that you don't want to fly the banners of celebration of the new year when your homeland has become war torn but it doesn't stop me from wishing you and your familly the best for 2009 and the power to overcome difficulties tied to this conflict and may peace prevail over your country.
