The "cage" next to the little grocery shop quickly fills up with our empty plastic bottles.
I always wondered how they empty it . . . until one day I came at just the right time and saw the truck for the first time. Look at that huge VACUUM tube!
Maybe next time I'll be in time to see and hear the vacuum in action.

Bye greetings from JoAnn/Holland
That would have been a great thing to have around the house.
ReplyDeleteI am all for recycling as many things as possible: paper, tins, bottles. coloured plastic or white plastic, clothes, furniture. Good on Israel to recycle plastics!
ReplyDeleteThe only vacuum trucks I have seen are the ones that service the Porta Potties.

Recycling is good, as long as it's done right.
ReplyDeleteVery good V : ) Vacume! I would like a new one for Christmas! Mine would not be able to suck up plastic bottles though! I am glad you believe in recycling! I think it is so important!
ReplyDeleteThat is good to know about V. I don't have or could I think of any thing. I need a new vacum but would not be a good picture.
ReplyDeleteWow! Great take for our V-Day! You must have found that VERY interesting to watch. lol
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Aloha-
ReplyDeleteLOL..we do recycle here too. In fact we take all our paper and cardboard to the library so that they can get the money to buy more books..Books will not be a high priority in this economic climate..I wonder if our plastics get sucked up too..LOL..
ReplyDeleteThat is a neat invention. Glad to see your little town recycles, we need more of that here.
ReplyDeleteI think most of us would agree how essential it is to do recycling nowadays. and ain't that a cool truck with such great Vacuum!
ReplyDeletemine is here: http://seasons.pinoyvibes.net/2008/12/17/v-is-for-vow/. hope you can visit too.
happy wednesday!
Vacuum... More than for ordinary uses (a friend of mine had a link yesterday about firemen saving a kitten using a vacuum too).
ReplyDeleteGreat V, Dina.
This is excellent that you are all recycling. I wish Hawaii would have a more thorough recycling program. Unfortunately, with this economy, recycling is really being hurt.
ReplyDeleteWe should recycle the good ideas like Peace and Fraternity too !
ReplyDeleteIf you do see it again, I do hope you catch that truck in action! I've never seen a vacuuming truck.
ReplyDeleteYou learn something new every day!
Now that is a truly original V! Fascinating!
ReplyDeleteOur bottle banks have a mechanism on top - the truck lifts them over the container, the driver presses a button, the bottom loosens, and the bottles tumble out with a great crash!
