Northern clouds

For SkyWatch Friday, here is the sky over Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights, seen from a moving bus as the road winds down toward Tiberias. The city's elevation (or lack of it) is about 690 feet below sea level.
.
I was down there doing archaeology since Sunday.
Today I came home to my computer and back to the pleasures of blogging.
Shabbat shalom to you all.

  2. Great picture - thanks!

Hope your archaeology work is going well. It's fascinating to read what archaeologists have found and are finding in Israel.

Shabbat shalom to you too - you probably need some rest - I imagine working at an archaeology site can be tiring, but rewarding, work.

I almost went into the archaeology field as I've been interested in it since childhood. But, I can't take heat and have very fair skin so it's good I did not. Doing research in an office or museum would be great, but I couldn't take the field work in hot and sunny climates.

  4. This is a pretty color in the sky. It is also a nice photo of the area.

I was going to personally invite you over to see the blog post because I knew you would be interested. I looked high a low among Nazi photos for a picture of a Jewish dentist working in a concentration camp but was not able to find one. So you saw what I found.

The story is true and was and still is amazing to me also. Tell some of your friends about it if you think it is worthy.

  5. I hope your work went well!

It is so fascinating to think of cities below sea level. Makes me want to learn more geology — if it is below sea level, then what's stopping the sea from rushing in?
