Waiting for the train

.
It's hard to find proper bridges here for Louis la Vache's "Sunday Bridges," just because Jerusalem has no body of water.

Seems like most of Israel's bridges are over dry land, like this one seen from the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem highway.
I think it is meant for the future high speed train between the cities. The railroad might be completed, if ever, in the very distant future.

  1. I saw several bridges of this sort in Sicily and Italy. Not so much here in the States ... typically over water.

  2. It looks marvellous with the vista and wide sky above. I didn't know Jerussalem had no body of water.

  4. Shalom to all. The photo is from February, hence all those gray clouds.

  5. Hello Dina! This may be from February, let's just say that the clouds add to it, it's a lovely bridge and I'm glad you didn't get a closeup. It looks dreamy in the distance and the landscape is lovely.

  6. Tough task... The only bridges I can remember in Israel were all in the Eilat area, around the marina.

  7. Boker tov, Dina. Nice shot, but the idea of a high speed train seems a bit ludicrous to me.

  8. A lovely peaceful scene. The noisy trains will disrupt that IF it's ever finished! :)

  9. You may not have many but the one that you found is a pretty big bridge!

  10. «Louis» understands that it isn't easy for you to find bridges given your location - but you've certainly found some to post and each has been very interesting! As Ciel wrote, the clouds add to the photo. «Louis» is delighted you are able to participate again this week!

  12. Now you've got me wondering where you get your water. Love the big sky you caught.

  13. It is a beautiful bridge and will both shorten and smooth the way for the train, if and when it comes!

  14. Chuck stole the words right out of my... keyboard. Sicilia and most of Italy boast not only bridges over water and viaducts over wide gorges, but also elevated trainways, much like this one.

    Ciao Dina!

  16. beautiful countryside. I noticed many bridges over dry land in Germany. I think they did this to preserve the farmland and to make the roadway more level without 'sculpting' the landscape.

  17. That looks like hope in the distance. I'm still waiting for a train in Hawaii.
