For SkyWatch Friday, a cloudy sky over the hills, as seen from Moshav Yad Hashmona.
Israel expects a little rain this weekend. Very strange, this being late May, which is normally well into the dry season.
(We saw other parts of this village and their Biblical Garden in four previous posts. )

Rain, seriously? I hope not, the forecast is hot as heck and we're planning a weekend at the pool :).

Nice sky! :) Tina
ReplyDeleteIt's starting to sound almost eerie how weather around the world is changing from the normal seasons. But I guess for you a little unseasonal rain is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a beautiful sky, Dina.

Beautiful shot! We've been raining here ^_^

Nice photo!
ReplyDeleteIt's been raining more than usual here in central California too - normally we're really dry from spring to fall.
Be grateful for any precious rain that comes. Put a small tank on the side of the house and save all rainwater. I saw the Dead Sea last year and it looked tragic :(
ReplyDeleteI like this little stone and palm leaf (?) hut. A viewing deck?
ReplyDeleteA little rain during the dry season is always welcome, as long as it's not a typhoon.
Hopefully it is true, that it will really rain,,,
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some rain. We're beginning to move into the dry season here too.
ReplyDeleteHilda, I think that hut is supposed to be a reproduction of the shomera that was common here in the terraced agricultural hills since ancient times. More about them here:

Hels, yes, the Dead Sea's condition is very sad.
I wish more Israelis would harvest rain water. But most houses do not have a gutter.
What a lovely and serene shot.
ReplyDeleteWonderful view.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it will rain because my SpiderDan have prayed for more water in the dead sea:-)
