Let go of your rain, clouds!

.
The Jerusalem Hills (aka the Hills of Judea) had heavy skies all day but just now, at 5 pm, the clouds are giving their rain.

That's my village on the hill.

"Hilltop" and "Judea" might make you think of "West Bank settlement," but no--my moshav (founded in 1949) is inside the Green Line, in Israel proper.

The wadi leading to the spring at the foot of my moshav (village) is now bare, charred, and stoney.
After last year's forest fire the Keren Kayemet/ JNF forestry guys took down all the dead burned trees.

Let's see what new natural growth comes up with the winter rains now starting.

  4. I share your happiness for rain...I've lived in several places in the US where rain is always welcome. The rains will be such a blessing to the denuded hillsides!

  6. You've got a lot of sky to use as your canvas. Spring should be a true rebirth there after the fires. It won't be long until nature surrounds you with it's beauty once again. That said, it's very nice the way it is now, too.

  8. I wish I could give you some of our rain. The off and on rains here are driving my mother crazy as she insists on hanging the clothes out on the line instead of using the dryer.

  9. Friends, thanks for all your offers of rain-sharing. I wish!

Robert, our rain turned out to be just a few minutes too.

Kay, I find that hanging laundry is a sure way to bring rain. Just kidding, I don't even have a dryer; no need for it.

  10. I like clouds, not so much rain, but it is not so easy to get one without the other.

  16. We've been getting showers around here too lately but thanks to that recent lunar eclipse event last Saturday.

I don't know if it has something to do with it but the rains gone after that event...well at least for 2 days now. :D
