UPDATE: The
4-hour televised peace vigil called by Pope Francis has just concluded, at midnight our time.
The Israeli papers are already saying good things about it. The Times of Israel says "The peace vigil marked something of a novelty for the
Vatican: Nothing of its kind has ever taken place in St. Peter’s Square
..." It says the Vatican estimated 70,000 were present.
He does seem to really be interested in helping - he's written a letter to Putin too about Syria. I'm not sure how much good all this will do but it has raised people's consciousness about the situation at least.
I agree. I don't know what the answer is, but I agree.
