Peter O'Toole, dead??
How can this be?!
I just assumed my hero would never leave us--my Lawrence, my General Silva, my Don Quixote . . .
He was the only movie star I ever cared about; he was very special; he was inspiring.
Go in peace, dear Peter O'Toole.
Thanks for all those moving moments on the screen that are often replayed in my heart.
Your memory is truly a blessing.

Oh, No! I revere very few movie stars, but Peter O'Toole has my undying admiration. Dr. Zhivago and Lawrence of Arabia are my all-time favorite movies. I am very sad!

In last weeks, so many great people have passed away. Here in Israel and other places as well. Sad!
ReplyDeleteYes, who is left to be our heroes now?
ReplyDeleteI had no idea til now when I found your blog at the top of my blogroll...
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing actor. Rest in peace...
No more heroes, they are all gone.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post enjoyed it.
It's true that I do believe we watched Masada together. I just read in the newspaper that there was some film person who said if O'Toole was any prettier, the movie would have been called Florence of Arabia. He died too young. He was only 81!
ReplyDeleteEl Orens, rest in peace!
ReplyDeleteGreat tribute, Dina! Such a fine actor.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea until I saw your post. Baruch Dayan HaEmet :(
