Lots of road construction going on between Meitar and Beer Sheva.
But that doesn't keep the goat herds from coming quite near the construction sites and the busy highway.
Enlarge the photo to see the goats browsing.

UPDATE: Here's a nice sheep + shepherds video (from the rainy season, when fields are green.

Strange to see goats wandering in herds like that. Here they would have to always be fenced in, I think, unless they were on private property. It must make for lots of interesting goat encounters :)
ReplyDeleteCrystal, ha, don't talk to the Bedouin about fences.
ReplyDeleteThere must have been a shepherd there, but from the bus I didn't sight him (or her).
Their sheep and goats and camels are let out on fields after the harvest to browse on the stubble.
Smart goats: they can browse without a browser...
ReplyDeleteI like goats! We have them on islands outside Grimstad. Nice pictures Dina
ReplyDeleteVP, who knows, maybe there is a firefox out there in the field.
ReplyDeleteSpiderdama, I like goats too, took care of them 6 years at Heifer Ranch, Arkansas.
Your islands with goats must be nice. Israel is like an island.
A beautiful blue sky!
ReplyDeleteWhat a view for those goats!
ReplyDeleteGoatherds take their flock wherever there is feed and why waste this opportunity?
ReplyDeleteGoats are clever, they would not dream of going on the road or too near the road works, there's nothing to eat there and feeding is their only object.
Nice shot Dina.
That is so true Dina! ISRAEL IS AN ISLAND!
ReplyDeleteI am conceiving a strong desire to visit Israel!

Hey, food is food. Humans and goats will search out a good meal, whereever they might find it. We are NOT proud.
ReplyDeleteShalom Dina, your second photo reminds me of scenes I saw along the roadside in Jordon except there were also a couple of camels.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are safe.
A beautiful blue sky! Like those goats! :)
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look like there's much to graze there. I hope they stay away from the traffic.
