Born free

My two young Australian-born grandsons (shown here) take it for granted that colorful parrots fly free in the wild in Australia. For me it is something new and wonderful and I am still thrilled every time I see or hear these beautiful birds in the trees.
The Crimson Rosellas at the Jenolan Caves cafes and picnic areas have a lot of chutspah. Hoping to share your meal they will even sit on your finger if you let them.
Many more bird and animal photos can be found this (and every) weekend over at Camera-Critters.

  3. I am sure that the wild parrots there are a lovely sight. I saw a flock of parrots in the wild when I was visiting San Ignacio, Belize. It is something i will never forget.

  5. Aren't they gorgeous! Fantastic color. We have wild green parrots in Pasadena, but they remain aloft and aloof.

  6. Parrots flying free - this is also very unusal for me. Here in Vienna, sparrows come to your table waiting for breadcrumbs!

  8. Oh wow, Dina! That is so cool! Those birds are gorgeous! I saw white cockatoos (I hope that spelling is correct.) when we were in Sydney and thought it was amazing but you're seeing them REALLY close up. Fabulous!

  14. That is amazing. I would think it is an amazing site to see and fully enjoy it as well. You have to pay A LOT of money for a bird like that around here.
