Two village cats visited my yard.
What's with the tail? Does this belong to the courting ritual?

Pictures of life in Jerusalem and the Jerusalem Hills. And since August 2013 also a look at the northern Negev, my new home.
Actually looks to me like a "are you worth me getting up and whupping you?" tail lash!
ReplyDeleteHow nice of them to stop by :) Not sure what the tail means but I bet there are a lot of cat people who do.
ReplyDeleteMine is up over at my pet blog.
anger usually or just meeting tail hahah
ReplyDeleteLOL... the tail looks like a question mark :-)
ReplyDeleteI like Kendris's take on it :-)
That is a funny tail gesture!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! It belongs to the courting ritual! Lovely animals! If you want to come to Holland on a cycling tour, you are very welcome. In September my Australian daughter and family are coming and they want to go cycling too! I am looking forward to seeing them. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLovely picture. Cats are always interesting: so independent, clever, crafty, soft.
ReplyDeleteThey look comfy lying in the shade.
ReplyDeleteLovely shot :)
ReplyDeleteI like his tail =^.^=
Lovely shot. Love the tail!
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that when a cat has his tail up like that, it means he is very happy.
ReplyDeleteNice shot. I like the tail curled like that.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good sing Dina!!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo of your visiting cats. I'm afraid I don't speak cat so not sure what he is saying :) The language is in the tail I think.
ReplyDeleteThey sure are pretty cats. Nice to have company around.
ReplyDeleteseems like "talk to the tail" to me ;)
ReplyDeleteI think that the cat with the tail up is playing hard to get!
ReplyDeleteFunny tail look but they do both look quite content laying there.
ReplyDeletemy guess is that the cat on the left is a female and a bit weary. On the right, a male trying not to appear to interested... before he makes his move.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I remember from my days around unneutered cats, there's usually a lot of yowling going on during courting. A lot of it... were these two just quiet?
