The color of summer

Two village cats visited my yard.
What's with the tail? Does this belong to the courting ritual?
.
See other animals this weekend at Camera-Critters Sunday.

  1. Actually looks to me like a "are you worth me getting up and whupping you?" tail lash!

  2. How nice of them to stop by :) Not sure what the tail means but I bet there are a lot of cat people who do.

Mine is up over at my pet blog.

  6. Absolutely! It belongs to the courting ritual! Lovely animals! If you want to come to Holland on a cycling tour, you are very welcome. In September my Australian daughter and family are coming and they want to go cycling too! I am looking forward to seeing them. Have a great weekend!

  7. Lovely picture. Cats are always interesting: so independent, clever, crafty, soft.

  9. I read somewhere that when a cat has his tail up like that, it means he is very happy.

  11. Great photo of your visiting cats. I'm afraid I don't speak cat so not sure what he is saying :) The language is in the tail I think.

  15. Funny tail look but they do both look quite content laying there.

  16. my guess is that the cat on the left is a female and a bit weary. On the right, a male trying not to appear to interested... before he makes his move.

  17. As far as I remember from my days around unneutered cats, there's usually a lot of yowling going on during courting. A lot of it... were these two just quiet?
