ReplyDeleteDina, the Saint Michael's Abbey was begun in the late 10th century for the Benedictine monks on the Via Francigena (the pilgrimage route to Rome), it became an important study centre and was enlarged many times until 1622. Now it's in the hand of the Rosminian fathers and in 1990 there has been a great work of restoration.
