Autumn in Israel is the season for dramatic sunsets and moonrises.
Enlarge the picture above and you might think the rings of Saturn had jumped over to the sun.

Pictures of life in Jerusalem and the Jerusalem Hills. And since August 2013 also a look at the northern Negev, my new home.
The sunset photos are good but the moon over Jerusalem is great!
ReplyDeleteWhat marvelous views, Dina. I'm sure I could seat there just watching the sun goes down or enjoying the night scene with the moon and stars (something I can't do on a normal day without going out of town onto higher grounds at the outskirt of the city.)
ReplyDeleteThese photos are great. I really like the one of the moon. You were able to capture the craters, as well as still seem the buildings on the land. Great job in balancing the lighting. That can be very tricky.
ReplyDeleteThe last one is beautiful! Jesusalem was even better than I thought;-)
ReplyDeleteHave a nice evening!
Lovely photos! Strange that your sun sets so early in the day. Here in Hawaii, it sets AFTER 6 pm.
ReplyDeleteI watched the sun set over the Pacific
ReplyDeletebeautiful Dina! In my new neighborhood I can't see sunsets (too many buildings in the way) and miss it a lot.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! It gets dark very early this time of year!
ReplyDeleteI was taking photos of the same moonrise, only on the other side of the world! Lovely photos, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful scenes from Jerusalem region!
ReplyDeleteThe moon picture was very good taken!
Fantastic captures, Dina! I particularly love the moon over Jerusalem, too! Really breathtaking! Thanks for sharing the beauty!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!

Great photos.
ReplyDeleteAmazing that the sun sets so early. Here in UAE, the sun sets at almost 06:00 PM. I think the weather in your place is also cool.
Truly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful set! The moonrise is stunning.
ReplyDeleteFascinating photos and so worth the early morning rising.
ReplyDeleteThis was my first visit..I'll be back.

I also love the moon picture.
ReplyDeleteI just love autumn sunset pictures. For some reason there are all sorts of optical effects that add to the effect.
Dina, how beautiful I love the sunset over the mountains.

Great pictures, it sure looks like Saturn.
ReplyDeleteIncredible captures, Dina. I just posted a moon shot that I took on Monday. It's nice to know that, although thousands of miles apart, we are gazing on the same loveliness of God's creation.
