A rainbow crown for Jerusalem's Old City!

Jerusalem was treated to a rare phenomenon on Monday!
A rainbow!
In these first two photos taken by a friend from her vantage point in the city, it looks like the arc starts in the Christian Quarter inside the walled Old City

 and ends in the Jewish Quarter.

It was strange: thunder and lightning, then suddenly a few minutes of sunshine and rainbow, then gloomy darkness and a downpour.


From my house in the Jerusalem Hills I could only see half a bow, and it was touching the tall mast of the Bridge of Strings.

This is only the second rainbow in several years that I have seen and I'm so happy to share it with you for  SkyWatch Friday.

    Rainbows are rare. Catching one is truly magical. It's an amazing thing. Each of the colours of rainbow, bring with it different meaning. I caught a glimpse of one too just recently, and had posted it on my blog. It was a lovely surprise for me too as I have not been seeing them for a long long time. May it bring us much joy, happiness and good health. Have a nice weekend with family members and close friends.

    This rainbow, that starts in the Christian Quarter and ends in the Jewish Quarter is almost symbolic for the two religions. How could they be separated?

    Aren't they a delight? We saw one in Sccotland that was so brilliant--moreso than any I'd seen before. And the camera was in the trunk.

    I never tire of seeing shimmering rainbows. No matter where I am when one occurs, I will stop and watch.
