Our hearts and prayers are with the people of Japan on this day of disasters.
And for friends like Kay of Musings who wait for the tsunami to hit Hawaii as they wait for word from relatives in Sendai and Tokyo.
( If you wonder why a Japanese Zen Buddhist temple bell hangs in a Jerusalem park, please see here.)

Wonderful tribute, Dina. The images of the catastrophe are unbelievable! The more I see the more shocked I am...
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrible tragedy. I have been thinking of my Japanese friends Keiko and Sonoko, and of all the people of Japan since this morning.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Dina. We are sick with worry. We still haven't been able to get through to Sendai to find out if my aunt, uncle and cousins are all right. We'll try to reach my uncle, aunt, cousins and friends in Tokyo this afternoon (morning their time). It's awful! It's just awful! We feel so helpless.
ReplyDeleteHawaii had some damage from the tsunami, but not too bad. We're down graded to an advisory right now.
A beautiful tribute. I missed the original post so I have discovered something new about Jerusalem once again.
ReplyDeleteThere was a bell very much like this one in Pasadena at one time. It was sent back to Japan. The story is here.
