I suppose part of an old mirror at the washstand is better than none at all when a nun has to tidy up and hasten to the communal prayer after a morning's work in the garden.

The church, convent, school, and guest hostel are on central Jerusalem's busy Agron Street, hidden within a surrounding wall.

That's a wonderful washstand. I thoroughly enjoy washing/showering outside when it's warm (which is all the time, here in Manila). That's a gorgeous gate, too.

ReplyDeleteA mirror for nuns ? I'm quite surprise there is even one half of one ; they are not supposed to look at themselves (it has something to do with vanity, I guess)... But perhaps that is the reason why there is only a half, it is placed high ; to avoid tempting the Sisters...
