Today marks the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
It is also International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Such a sad anniversary! Let's all learn from past mistakes and atrocities and live in the present being good to one another. We are all so blessed to be alive!

ReplyDeleteI still can't believe it happened. I've always been afraid that something like the Holocaust will happen again and it doesn't bear thinking about.

ReplyDeleteI took a friend to the doctor today. Her family had to flee Croatia, via Italy, and then over the mountains into Switzerland, where they were lucky enough to be allowed to stay throughout the war years.
It's good to know that out of such evil, hope can still come alive again.
