Lara, a first-time mother, lost half of her just-born litter to jackals. When the jackals came back the next day she bravely stood up to them and drove them away!
Mother's Day greetings and gratitude to all mothers, whether human or animal, and especially to my dear daughter, daughter-in-law, and step-daughters.
God bless you for all you do and are.
Other nice animals on view today at Camera-Critters Sunday.

ReplyDeleteWonderful Mother's Day story.
I am a cat lover and miss my cats very much, but unfortunately I can't have any pets because I am often away. Each year I travel to Australia.Your cat is so brave to stand up to the jackal. That's real love. The kittens are adorable.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures. Nature’s way I guess, jackals just doing what jackals do. Good to see mum standing up for the kittens though!
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm watching a documentary about (for example) seals, I say "you cruel horrible shark eating that seal".
When I'm watching a doco about penguins, and a seal eats one I say "you horrid seal, leave the penguin alone".
When I'm watching a doco about sharks, I say "go on shark, eat the seal, you need to feed!"
I think that it would blow my mind to watch them all at once!
