Welcome to the Jerusalem Hills sky I chose for SkyWatch Friday, a fun group of bloggers who come together every weekend to share and compare skies. You are welcome to visit the others or to join in.
This was the hazy sky as seen from my second bus at 6:10 a.m. Don't you love the driver's bouquet of faux flowers on the dashboard? The archaeological excavation where I'm working all of August is seen behind the middle of the lamppost. Here I get off the bus and start the slow trek upward. The sun was rising by then.
There she is! A glorious sun shining on a still quite empty highway, rising over the skyline of Jerusalem. It is worth getting up at 4:30 every morning to see such as this!

It's amazing how we can participate in events a whole world away. Sunrise's are beautiful in any part of the world.
ReplyDeleteNice job.
Our "Sky Watch" is Here.
Come visit,
Troy and Martha
Wow, that is worth getting up for, and what a place to be.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are amazing.
Beautiful sequence Dina!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Dina! Lovely Sky Watch.
ReplyDeleteI see, from browsing your site for postings previous to Sky Watch, that I need to visit here every day! I didn't know until I read your comment on Cairo/Giza Daily Photo in the last day or so that you are an archaeologist. I have never been on a 'dig' in my long life, but have been interested in such things from a very early age. I should have been a digger instead of a banker, I think!
lovely sunrise, i'm surprised you get clouds now - we've had no more than about 4-5 cloudy days in the whole of summer
ReplyDeleteI find it quizzical when people say they are not a morning person. You really know you are aliove early in the morning with views like this. A lovely image, Dina.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunrise...touching, for some reason with all the Biblical stories, it seems like the 'same' sun that shown way back when..sentimental maybe, but it feels that way to me.
ReplyDeleteI see you trudging up that hill Dina..imagine the new day coming on, and the coolness of early morning, that doesn't last long..
