Oh, gross! I returned from a walk in nature in the cool of evening only to discover a myriad of winged ants dancing frenetically on my warm notebook computer and mouse.
Talk about computer bugs!
I even shot a video of their rapid movement but I will spare you. The photo is bad enough!
Please go enjoy some bigger and prettier animals over at our Sunday meme at http://camera-critters.blogspot.com/.

Wow, that's a bug indeed! I hope the rest of your day will be antless!
ReplyDeleteBTW The dog on my blog is playing with a coconut! He loves it.
Yikes! What did you do? I'd be tempted to use toxic chemicals, even though I've sworn them off.
ReplyDeleteI just bought a book you might like, called "The Architecture of Happiness" by Alain de Botton. I haven't read it yet so I can't recommend it, but I'd been wanting it. It's about how buildings influence us and how architects "could build in ways that would increase our chances of happiness." Interesting topic, no?
I know! I think I had this same thing happened to me months ago. I was drinking something and forgot to clean..lol Nice photo opps though!
ReplyDeleteMine is HERE if you have a time! Thanks! Happy CC!
Yikes! Not a good welcome home.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your computer bugs.
ReplyDelete"winged ants"? Aren't they termites?
Thanks Wil, Petrea, Yen, Tipper, and Bobbie, for your sympathy and your ideas. Termites-oi, never thought of that. There is no wood in this little house so I'm not worried about that. This bug on the mouse thing happened two evenings in a row last week, then they were gone and never came back.
ReplyDeletePetrea, toxic chemicals? Isn't that a bit harsh? :) After filming the video I just took some TP and squished them. Your book sounds promising! I remember being surprised when the guide at Jerusalem's Mormon university said the building was designed with both arches and straight lines so that both males and females could feel comfortable in it. That was new to me. Guess I should read your book.
maybe they smell something sweet in your computer like ice cream, cake, milk or chocolates...they looks so cute in the picture.
ReplyDeleteThat`s the thing about critters isn`t it; they can show up anywhere. A unique presentation.
ReplyDeleteThank you for having visited mine.

ReplyDeleteA mouse radioactive ?

ReplyDeletekris
yep, revolting!
ReplyDeleteDina: I've heard and saw the result of a computer bug but this is the first time I saw the actual bug. LOL
ReplyDeleteYuck! At least they're harmless and it makes a really cute picture!!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, not nice that you got this little invaders, but it makes an original and funny entry for the Critters.
ReplyDeleteI think they are probably attracted to the light on the mouse, and then the heat.
ReplyDeleteYou have to admit... it did make a neat shot though.
good lord! i thought this was a joke but then looked closely at the bugs! yuck!
ReplyDeleteoh my they come fast- I dropped a cracker getting out of the car, went back already covered..sk
ReplyDeleteI think they are attracted to the light and the warmth. Switching off the computer would drive them away. :)
ReplyDeleteAlmost as many computer bugs as in Microsoft Vista :-)
ReplyDeleteOMGosh! that's awful ants. Nice shot though!
ReplyDeleteOh gross is right that is a lot of ants
ReplyDeleteNever thought a computer bug could be like that!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThose little buggers tend to swarm this time of year. Glad they are gone.
ReplyDeleteYikes!
ReplyDeleteYikes - fruit flies looking for the fruit bowl maybe??? We often get bugs here when it rains - millions of them all over the place. they are small they get thru the screens too - most annoying!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat to catch up with you again and check your posts - amazing as usual!!! I am late posting this weekend due to power and internet problems and visitors!!!
yikes. Computer bug indeed. creepy crawly critter post.
ReplyDeleteUgh! But a very topical critter post! Well done.
ReplyDeleteA lot bigger than anything we get here. akes agreat critter pic though.
ReplyDeleteYUK!!! How horrible. I hope there was an easy solution to rid your computer of its bugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the photo! I think. I woke yesterday morning to an invasion of ants in my kitchen. I thought I had blasted those guys back to the stone age a couple of years ago .. but we had about 6 inches of rain yesterday and they were looking for some dry ground!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Oh my, talk about computer bugs! Ick... I hope they don't come back!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your fun comments, everyone!
ReplyDeleteI think you might be right that they were attracted to the only source of light in the house while I was out walking. Why is my silly mouse always glowing blue, then green, then red? Maybe the winged ants or whatever they were, thought the mouse was the big glowing Mother of All Ants calling them nigh! LOL
Oh that would freak me out! Taking pictures would not be my first thought so I greatly admire your composure!
ReplyDelete*hugs*
hey! at least it wasn't a virus, heee heee heee
ReplyDeleteThose are definitely a bunch of 'computer' bugs. 8v)
