Time for weekend Camera-Critters meme, featuring animals from around blogland.
Down in the woods I opened a gate and was surprised to meet this dog in a place forbidden to him, on the wrong side of the wall. He should have been up one terrace, helping the shepherd herd and guard the goat flock that was out browsing.
He knew it and wanted out.
Any Trekkies reading this blog? You reckon the dog was saying, "Beam me up, Scotty!"?
I always like walking in the woods..Nice perfect shot!Mine is here. Happy CC!~

Hi Dina !

Your text is funny...
Are there many herds in You ?
See You later...
Shalom, Dina! The plaque I posted on PICTURE THIS is a central plaque placed in Martin's Park in Flushing Queens, NY. This was my childhood park where we went to play on the swings and monkey bars. There was a wading pool which we loved and floated in all the time. Little did we know that just below were the bones of these African American and Native American people who were buried here rather than in the huge beautiful cemetery for whites was across the way (literally across the street today; it's still there today). They found this burial place when they decided to renovate the park many years after I moved away and grew up. I went back to Flushing to visit this memorial (the whole park is now a memorial) They've planted flowers and trees where the swings and monkey bars used to be. I walked through the memorial alone and in silence. I was overwhelmed by the place, the hallowed ground that I played on when I was a child. Do you think I should write all this in a comment on the PICTURE THIS blog?
ReplyDeleteI love your photo and the unusual beam... :)
I'm a Trekkie, and I'm thinking that's how the dog got there in the first place. The controls had the wrong coordinates!
ReplyDeleteLove the picture and caption!
