Alone again

Naomi, Eyal, Dean --
It has been a good year. Six weeks staying with my grandsons in their Sydney home; and now five weeks being near them while the family was in Israel.
We had good times together.

Here Dean had just found a hedgehog quill while we explored the woods.

Early this morning they headed off into the sunrise, back to Australia, back to the other side of the world. Goodbye dear Dean and Eyal, shalom sweet Naomi and Guy. . .
God, why did you have to make the world so big?!

  2. Your family is precious. Too bad indeed they have to live so far from you. Thanks for sharing, especially the one with you and the two boys.

  3. How wonderful to have been able to spend so much time together as a family, on both sides of the world...but I know you will miss each other's company. As CathyM said, thank God for internet and phone!

  5. Dina,
I guess you live in the middle of your kids! I feel for you!
I deal with a son living in China although he is not married (yet). Fortunately, my 2 daughters live a 7 hour drive away. Still far, but at least i do get to see my grandkids more than once a year.

    Keep up your spirits, Dina!
Thank you for my concern yesterday with those earthquake jolts!

  6. Ah Dina!! I know exactly how you feel. Saying good- bye is heart rending, no matter how long you have been together. The world is too big for us. Your younger grandson has your eyes! You've got a wonderful family. Shabbat Sjalom, Dina!

  8. Hello beautiful Dina

Arent the children beauties, you will be united again sooner than you think.

As far as the preceeding post goes well I loved that sculpture of love to view the sky
after all love is the only window that does open to the sky.

    have a beautiful day.

  11. Parting like this is one of the hardest things. You look. Tears come. Your mind races. And a week later you are still seeing them everywhere. Life is like that.

  13. Catherine and Sara, yes of course, you're right. Thank you for reminding me of how hard it was in the pre-e-mail era.

    Leora, thanks for understanding.

PA, right. But even worse I hate to be leaving and have to go into the airport with tears.

Jeannette, China! Oi, somehow that sounds even further away than Australia.

Thanks Wil. I know you have the same situation. Neh neh, what to do . . . ?

Hi Erin, yes, time runs by too fast.

Shalom Raphaelleae, really? Do you know something I don't? I hope you are right!

Cloudia, I guess this post saw the light of day exactly for that--sharing a tear with a blogger-sistah or -bruddah.

    Yaelian, toda. Gam ani mehava!

Abe, ain't it the truth! You say it so well. Wish I could borrow your strong shoulder to cry on at times like this.

Thanks JM. Yes, I should think more about the good times instead of the good-bye. I'll try, OK.

  15. Sending an extra good thought your way, and your grandchildren's way too. My own kids always take it very hard when they have to say goodbye to their grandparents, and it isn't any easier on the grownups either.
