Golden jackal

.
Toward evening I walked across the street to a favorite place of silence and solitude (the place where I found the discarded artwork).

A jackal was standing there!
.

When he finally noticed me, he turned tail and ran.
.
I love these encounters with wild animals, especially when it is time for Camera-Critters Sunday.

  3. Not the best critter you can ask for, but much better than my dirty pigeons!

  4. I hope they're not too dangerous. I remember when we had coyotes and foxes in Illinois. We did stay away from them.

  5. A jackal! Now that's something I have never seen. Perhaps we have one in the zoo here in Adelaide. I must find out.

  12. Yes, I can understand this feeling of excitment when you meet a real wild animal. We only meet ducks and swans and other birds!
