Well-stacked

.
Tonight Israel moves the clock forward and begins "Summer Time."
.
The post-sunset colors, like these for SkyWatch Friday, will be later in coming.
And that's fine with me.
.
But who stacked up those concrete barriers on top of our hill?
Modern sculpture it's NOT.
Maybe one night a giant came up to play with his set of giant Duplo or Lego blocks?

  1. We switched last weekend. Is it still so that the palestinian part of the country switches over to summertime one month later?

  2. I hate summer time, my best day of the year is when we switch back in October.

  3. Rob and Mandy, I haven't heard anything this year. I imagine the Palestinian Authority will be on the same time. It would be too complicated otherwise.
But I'll find out tomorrow and tell you.

    VP, really? Why?

  5. The concrete dividers certainly do get in the way of the beautiful views.

I dislike changing to DST...Arizona didn't and I loved it!

  11. We don't switch times in Hawaii. Therefore, every season we have to remember how many hours difference we are from everybody else on the mainland.

  12. I never knew the setting clocks back/ahead was not globally done at the same time (besides places that don't do it at all, like China, but that is a special case of idiocy where the whole massive country is one time zone.) Looks like there may be some noise coming down from the top of the hill when these barriers are put into place... are you close to the top?

  13. Francisca, the time change in Israel seems to come on a different date every year, depending on what the religious political parties decide. It has a lot to do with Jewish prayer times and Yom Kippur fasting.

My place is on the upper third of the hill, not the very top. The concrete things are across the street, a 2 or 3 minute walk. But they are behind the neighbor's buildings, not in my view.

  14. The concrete makes a powerful image in the silhouette photo.
