Happy spring!
It is migration season again for millions of birds on the Africa-Israel-Europe route.
The Hula Valley in northern Israel, pictured above (March 2012), is a favorite resting place.
A few days ago a bird collided with the engine of an El-Al jet headed for Tel Aviv.
The plane had to return to Berlin and make an emergency landing.

Nice rainy sky here. Also the birds are nice in front. Thanks for showing.
ReplyDeleteI guess that if the plane went back to Berlin the collision happened not far from that airport.
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty landscape! Yes, that does happen quite a bit. The planes get in the way of the birds' journeys!
ReplyDeleteThese birds have always amazed me. Have you seen the movie "le peuple migrateur"?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dark sky with the green. I really enjoy looking at your blog. It must feel like living in a museum with such rich history.
ReplyDeleteLove those lowering clouds above the birds. Glad the jet's pilot was able to safely land the struck plane! My WW
ReplyDeletewhat beautiful color contrasts in this photo Dina… shabbat shalom.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to see something like this. Must be amazing.
ReplyDeleteVP, yes, I'm sure you are right.
ReplyDeleteNone of the media said exactly where the accident happened, but it must have been closer to Berlin than to Tel Aviv.
I don't 'fly' that high, so no problem for me. hehehehehe!
ReplyDeleteCiel, I don't know this movie. Thanks! I'll look for it.
ReplyDeleteThe film Ciel recommends is also known as Winged Migration in English- it was released with multiple language narration tracks. I've got it, and it's breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteDramatically beautiful picture!
ReplyDeleteYou will see vast swarms at the moment, lucky you!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful and how special to see them all together-love the contrast of the green with the birds and sky
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful! I've never seen so many cranes(?) together.
ReplyDeleteLove this photo Dina, the colors, the ominous sky, everything about it is really nice. Hope you got some rain.
