R is for Reforestation (ABC Part 7)

Israel is the only country in the world that has more trees at the beginning of this year than it had last year.

The Keren Kayemet or Jewish National Fund has planted millions of trees over the decades to make Israel green.
Reforestation has given us this beauty right in our own backyard!

I think people all over enjoy life much more by having trees and beautiful nature around.

  3. My husband and I visited Israel in 2000. We planted 3 trees in honor of our children and their families. The reforestation is working so well and giving back to the land is wonderful.

  4. I hope you don't mind that I comment on only one of your collection of Rs. Each of these is an excellent example and all of them could be worthy of a great many accolades. Each also has many stories I am sure.

I visted the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the way of the cross may years ago. At that time the church was being restored if I recall correctly. I think the Lutheran Chrurch of the Ascension may be new since that time.

  8. I chose to comment here but I want you to know that I read every single part. There are so many things to say, not enough room. You are giving me views of Israel and Jerusalem that I never saw before. The beauty, history and tragedy. My favorites? The trees (what a beautiful photograph), the roof cat, the bascilica. Thank you.

  14. Thank you dear friends. It's so moving to hear your thoughts. I happen to have the privilege of living near Jerusalem and it is my joy to share her with you.

Dear Katney, You are so right. Each place has so many stories of its own, and each of my photos carries special memories of my own of each place. Yes, the tower of the Holy Sepulchre was hidden by scaffolding for many years.

Shalom Photowannabe, Glad you were here and planted trees. The land thanks you.

  16. Beautiful images. I think a tree is a world unto itself, hosting so many other lives and providing so much--protection from erosion, from evaporation, from heat....Thanks for sharing this good work.
