Sometimes a bench is needed

RuneE, at his beautiful blog Visual Norway, is inviting us all to join in an informal meme on Fridays. The subject is benches.
My friend on this bench is reflecting on a special exhibit at Yad Vashem, Israel's official memorial to the victims of the Shoah.
We in Jerusalem offer sympathy to the family of Officer Stephen Johns, the guard shot down on Wednesday at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum--a black man killed by a white supremacist and anti-Semite.

  1. Thank you for "joining" :-)

As you say, he background in this case is the grimmest possible. How mankind after all that has happened still can hold such discriminatory views are beyond me, but the I'm sorry to say that I'm naive.

  3. A lovely, thoughtful approach to this meme.

Upsetting, tragic, scary. May his family know no more sorrow.

  5. It is a comforting thought to know that people in other countries also show sympathy for this family. Bless you all!

The bench looks beautiful and I am sure is most useful to visitors that coem to reflect and meditate there.

I have a bench near the trees by the river if you care to look. . .

  6. You are a prolific Blogger – I have been away for a couple of weeks and am reading all the interesting posts you wrote. I was in Alaska and the Yukon, far from the News and just heard about the terrible hate crimes that happened, the murder of the abortion doctor by a Christian terrorist and of the guard at the museum by a white supremacist – how can we stop all this hate? It is very sad. On the current post – I like looking a many blogs and saw some which showed many photos of benches and chairs – so many types and varieties with very good visual effects.
