WHAT are they feeding this cactus?!?

In the "garden suburb" neighborhood of Rechavia in Jerusalem.

  2. Nice! I didn't see the cactus until I clicked on the photo to enlarge it. Love the flowers, though.

  4. That plant must be pretty old.

Thanks, Dina, for the link on the study day. It must have been a very interesting day. I was especially glad to read that Harani spoke of the Carmelite Order as the blue and white Order (referring to the colors of Israeli flag)That's the Order that I belong, too. I mentioned earlier that Jews and Christians share the same heritage. Well, even more so for Carmelites because our roots go back to Elijah in the Old Testament (Book of Kings). Thanks for sharing this.

  6. The cactus is just curious: it wants to see what is going on on the terrace....

  8. Oh my goodness, Dina! That's one tall cactus. Do you know if it will produce flowers?

I started one from seed last year and it's about 10 inches high. Maybe I should think of transplanting it to the outdoors.

  9. One very tall cactus. Perhaps it grows so well because the surrounding plants are doing well.

  11. Good thing I read Gigi's comment and enlarged the photo because I didn't think that flowering bush was a cactus. Wow!
