On the bench in Kikar Denia

.
The press and the people this week are asking why we so seldom see police officers literally on the street, outside of their squad cars.

Well, I was so surprised to see two cops outside sitting on a bench that I pulled out my camera.

And if on a bench, why not use the photos for RuneE's little Friday meme, "Bench of the Week"?

The view is the sculpture of people in a boat. For the moving rescue story behind it, please see my post about Jerusalem's Denmark Square.

  1. Sadly, we are living in parts of the world Dina, that police needs some rest from time to time..

  2. Maybe they are cops "off the beat"? Or "On beat on the bench"? :-)

PS Thank you for the pleasant comment!

  3. This made me think: I forget sometimes that the police are people, doing their job. Trying to support their families. Doing life the best they can. So of course, why not take a break on a bench?

  5. You can't miss them with those bright green vests!

I don't like seeing cops on the street. I don't much like or trust our police or soldiers :(

  7. Those cops must be newbies still learning the job.

Dina, what are the latest archaeological finds you been digging up?

  8. These cops are not beating about the bush anyway! I read the story about the Danish rescuers. They were admirable people all through the war. The king was their shining example. I heard that when all Jewish Danes had to wear a yellow star, he also wore a star, and that he daily asked how the Jewish Danes, who were arrested, were doing.

  15. I wonder if Police are supposed to take a break? I don't think they can do that here but I do see them asleep in their patrol cars, mouth agap.

I have the issue of "breast feeding" on my main blog today Pick a Peck of Pixels

  16. Isn't one of the men using his cell phone? Last night, I saw a security guard texting. Gone are the days when we have 100% of someone's attention!
