I was shooting into the setting sun to catch this shadow on a fig leaf cast by a neighboring leaf.
This was in June so the little figs you see on top are bigger now.
Or at least those figs that have not been eaten by birds, bats, worms, jackals, or hikers.

Don't you love the delicate pattern of veins (seen when the photo is enlarged)?

A post for Summer Stock Sunday and Shadow Shot Sunday.

Very nice photo.
ReplyDeleteRegards!
Reminds me of 1 Kings 4:25: "And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon." (Maybe predators were few and far between in those days!)
ReplyDeleteA very beautiful shadow shot.
ReplyDeleteMine is so silly this week, I am tempted to remove it...noooo, on second thought, I was just in a playful mood and that's....ok.

Leaves, leaves, leaves! I just came in from trimming our big birch tree!
ReplyDeleteRegards from Leif, not Leaf
(Leif rhymes with safe)
Yes, delicious. But it sounds a little scary with all those animals that eat the fruit.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty shadows!
ReplyDeleteNature's variety and reasonableness amazes me so much.
ReplyDeleteI reached you through Shadow Shot Sunday. I also live in Israel....
ReplyDeleteInteresting image and thoughts.
ReplyDeleteNowadays a lot of people are hiding behind leaves like these.
a wonderful mean to measure summer indeed. there's one growing in me backyard.
ReplyDeleteplease have a good sunday.
Beautiful leaves, and I do indeed love the delicate pattern of veins when the photo is enlarged. Very, very nicely done, Dina.

It is interesting to observe the more sharply defined leaf shapes of that fig tree compared to the one in my garden...I suppose there are countless shapes for the different kinds of figs. I always love how they glow in the sunlight...and yes, that amazing network of veining!
ReplyDeleteI love the at least four different greens depending on how much light is filtered through the leaves. The colours just jump out at you when you enlarge it.
ReplyDeleteLovely and lush looking. Our figs usually ripen while we're away each summer so the birds get most of them. The few we do get are delicious though.
