Nobel Prize winners

.
Well, the Nobel Prizes have all been awarded for this year.
Wouldn't it be a great miracle if next year's Peace Prize could go to someone in the Middle East?

Meanwhile, if you walk up the ramp at one entrance to the Hebrew University Mt. Scopus campus, you  pass photos of the university's many Nobel Laureates.
Or in Hebrew, ha-Nobelistim.
Including  Prof. Albert Einstein.

The best part is the big question mark hanging at the end.
How many students and teachers passing by dream of seeing their photo there someday?

Well, Dina, that prize has been awarded in that general area in the past, but sadly peace just doesn't seem to be a permanent thing for us humans.

Among many Norwegians this is a circus. All the money this award in Oslo cost..Money they could use to help people who really need it. It's a joke, so let's hope for some major changes (sorry).
And yes, as long as we still have this price let's hope and pray that it can go to someone in the Middle East next year.

If only this award had a real impact on the great need for peace in this world of ours! We can always hope for next year. . .

We Jews had some truly brilliant men and women!!

In a tiny country, we have always had to maximise our intellectual capital, so I am not at all surprised. But I am nonetheless always very proud.

That's a good incentive...

I agree with you, Dina. The Middle East does need leaders who are committed to and work sincerely for peace. Only then does the Noble Prize means anything.

It would be wonderful if peace came to the middle east. Sadly, I don't think it's going to be next year. Hopefully one day though. And when it happens, the responsible person will definitely deserve the Nobel prize!

I am not sure sure how much good the Nobel Prizes do for anyone, except as an ego boost to the recipient.
But, yes, a more down to earth dream would be to have my name and photo on the walls of the university!
(Those are also quite large photos, I think.)

Calling by from the signs meme as another participant, interesting choice.
