Looking out from the ancient Canaanite shaft tomb they had been excavating, workers come up for some fresh(er) air and a coffee break.
They were two of my forty Arab colleagues at the Holyland Park dig in Jerusalem in 2008.

ReplyDeleteI have always admired archaeology for what it covers up. I think each time we Americans bury somebody that some archaeologist in some future age will dig us up and make a fantastic discovery.

Being an archaeologist must have been a lot of fun. When I think of archaeology I think of Indiana Jones :)
