R is for round rubber gardens.
Libby is three and a half and she has planted flowers in a repurposed tire.
Each kid in her class made a scarecrow face with his/her name on it, brought a plant from home, and with the help of a parent planted it in a tire in the kindergarten yard.
This month's curriculum is all about plants.
And reuse and recycling is always a topic.
Grandsons Dean (10) and Eyal (6) checked out the other individual gardens.
There are more than thirty little gardeners and gardens in the pre-school.

I've seen tires repurposed here for just that reason in the past. Good shots!
ReplyDelete"Reuse and recycling is always a topic". Excellent idea... it should be an important issue for all primary and high schools.
ReplyDeleteI need a tyre. No wait, I need a garden! Cool idea and sweet shots!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice idea!
ReplyDeleteI love this! I'm so glad you get to watch them grow and learn, Dina. Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteIt is a good way to reuse tires.
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of old tires, it is to drag them after me up the hill for training.. I will rather use them for flowers next year. I promise!
Great pictures of your grandkid:-)
What a great idea! I love the fact that kids not only work on that at school but also bring something from home. It obviously makes for very diverse plantations.
