Life on the edge

.
This Apple of Sodom clings to a canyon wall near En Gedi, near the Dead Sea.
It has even managed to grow over a ledge and reach for the edge of the cliff.
.
Wikipedia has a picture of the hollow and bitter fruit of the Calotropis procera.

  9. That's an amazing photo. That plant deserves to live. It's a good thing it's not in my garden since I've got a brown thumb and can kill any plant you give me.

    I like this picture, Dina.

  18. Shalom friends, thanks for your comments.

Eki, Tapuach Sdom became in English the Sodom Apple. It was known in antiquity and was said to grow near the city of Sodom, on the Dead Sea.
Its fruit looks as big as a green apple but it is hollow, just full of air.
Wiki says the plant is native to western and southern Asia and North Africa.
