Playful puppies at President Peres' place

.
Animal pictures for Camera-Critters were the last thing I expected to capture at the Sukkot public reception at the President's house.
But there they were, three dogs.
When they saw each other, they started straining at the leash and finally jumped all over one another in joy.

They will have to learn to be more restrained.
Their jackets say they are "guide dog puppies in training."
And the young man's shirt says "Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind."

Many university students volunteer to be foster parents for the puppies' initial socialization.

Please see an earlier post where I described the breeding and training of these Hebrew-"speaking" guide dogs (bless their heart).

.
This post's title will be good for ABC Wednesday's P day.

  6. My nephew had one of these for a time, he is not completely blind but needed help to adapt to a worsening condition and the dog did miracles.

  7. Oh, I love what Romina said. A puppy party! They know one another from puppy class, I'm sure, and the two in the third photo look like siblings.
    Wonderful, Dina, just wonderful.

  8. Puppies!

They have them here too and I was offered a chance to sign up to get one but my vision hasn't become bad enough to need that. What would we do without our animal friends? :)

  18. I would love to have been there! The party of puppies is a good description. I read about an artifact found in Jerusalem -- can't remember the details now. My memory is really affected by medication I'm on I think it was from around 400 AD and had a painting of what was thought to be Jesus and probably Mary-- although I don't think mariology had its roots so far back.
I do so love the puppies.

  19. Friends, thanks for all your observations and enthusiasm about the puppies.

Chris, I was at the IAA conference last week where they announced the discovery of the tiny box. Very exciting. It is beautiful. The archaeologists did not say it was Jesus and Mary. That is just what people WANT to believe. But in any case, it is a beautiful example of a pilgrim's portable faith.

  20. Thank you so much for the info Dina. It is wonderful to have a contact like you who was right there. You can't do everything in life but I think archeology would have been one of my choices. So many different paths and different interests available.
    Thanks for the link
