A big apple

Apple Core by Claes Oldenburg
and his wife, Coosje van Bruggen, 1992
Israel Museum

The boy relaxing inside the apple proves what the museum writes--"an endearing ... piece, inviting tactile exploration."

  2. What a cool sculpture! It's nice that the curators don't mind someone sitting in the sculpture.

    The artist is saying:
"this is all that's left of ART."
    & "They will buy Anything!"

  4. Really wonderful this "living" sulpture, Dina!

Blogger has solved fastly the problem about the size of the images, now all is working well.

In my last comment: instead of "From yesterday", of course "Since yesterday"!

  5. What would Liza Minelli say to this? It is art, to the core.

  7. Some sculptors are very weird :)

The only way I would sit in a chewed apple would be if it was close to a wine bar. That way I could enjoy the museum, the sunshine and great wine.

  9. These guys are formidable, I saw their funny 'House Ball' in Berlin. The amazing thing is that someone is willing to pay for these... works!
