Theater in Beer Sheva

.

Workers were putting up new posters this morning at the back side of the Be'er Sheva Theater.

The front side had much bigger ads for the coming theater performances.
How about "The Sound of Music"?

And here at the entrance--"Born Yesterday"  and  "Beauty and the Beast."

  1. Can this theatre draw big enough crowds to each production to make it artistically and financially worthwhile? I hope so. Citizens want a good range of musicals, drama, comedy etc.

  2. Quite an impressive building, from the pics.

Why does it have to be musicals? So asked the loopy Canuck who doesn't like musicals....

  3. Are you going to see any of them? We will expect your expert reviews.

  6. Hels, William, Petrea, Ciel-- wait, I just moved down to the Negev. It will take me time to get to know the situation in Beersheva and be able to answer your questions.
I do know that this theater has shows other than musicals.
I doubt if I'll be going, though, since they start at 9 pm.

Toby, yes, there is plenty to see. Hope to meet you someday.

  7. How wonderful to see "A Sound of Music" in Hebrew . Is it also translated into Hebrew?
Thanks for your comment. I am so sorry to hear that Illinois was hit by a tornado and heavy hailstorms. Indeed mother Nature is very unbalanced.

  10. Beautiful modern building, Dina.
Is the woman on the second photo wearing a "Dirndl"?

  11. Wil, I'm quite sure Tslillei Hamuzika will be in Hebrew, for better or for worse.
As Haaretz said about The Sound of Music, "Ach, if only the whole world were a Rodgers and Hammerstein musical."

Karl, jawohl, the Austrian Mädel has to wear a Dirndl!
Can't you just hear her singing Edelweiss ... ?

  13. Everything looks so new and modern in your new home town :) Where I live there's not much theater because it's a relatively small town, but we have a thing called the Music Circus, where they have musicals like The Sound of Music in the summer. I've only been once, to see Oliver.

  14. Crystal, in all fairness I should start showing the old and ugly parts too.
I'm glad I don't live in the big city. Beersheva is 40 minutes by bus from Meitar, the little town where I live now.
