Kitty tail holder

(Enlarge for de tail)

Ha! Just when I was despairing of finding an interesting animal for today's Camera-Critters
I glanced out the door and saw a neighborhood tomcat snoozing in the warm afternoon sun with his tail draped over the railing!
.
With the shadows he looked like a weird hybrid of raccoon and tiger.
Hey! This can be good for Shadow Shot Sunday too, over at Hey Harriet.

He is a nice old cat, one of the few ferals that let me pet them.
I think he has had a hard life, bless his heart.

  2. I agree Dina, Mr. Feral does look like he's had a hard life. They're fun to befriend. Even if they don't become tame, they become loyal-- territorially, at least.

  3. Yep those shadows make him look very dangerous! Great shadow shot!

  4. I have never been anywhere with as many cats as you find in Israel. They're everywhere, and I suspect most of them are feral. He is a fine old cat but I'm sure life has not been easy for him. Thanks for reminding me the Israel cats.

  8. He looks indeed like something more dangerous than a little sweet cat!

  9. Aww. Poor kitty, he does look like he's had a hard life. It's very cool that he lets you pet him, though!

  10. Beautiful cat. His head looks huge compared to his legs.

  11. The shadows make the shot. He looks as if he has been around the block a time or two.

  12. The shadows did create an interesting looking cat. We have a number of feral cats in our neighbourhood but I'm sure many of them don't make it through our Ontario winters.

  13. He has had a hard life. That big broad head is the sure mark of an intact old tom (the hormones do that, or so I've been told). Sweet fellow.

  14. Cats are such lovely, languid creatures. I always enjoy the ones we meet on your blog. I'm glad he lets you pet him.

  16. Feral yet friendly? That alone is amazing. I hope people are kind to him.

  19. Oh ... how cute! And nice photos too.

Did you change the color of your blog's font, Dina? It's more difficult to read now with the pattern background and blue fonts. The privioius colors worked better, I think.

  22. Hello friends of animals, thanks for your good comments. I learned some things from them, e.g. big broad cat head is a result of good male hormones maybe.
And yes, people are kind to the cats, esp. this one. My neighbor man says this one has no teeth, so he chops up food for him, and that he can hardly see.

Eki, I didn't change anything on the blog! I hope it got back to normal on your screen. Anyone else having this problem??
    Oi veh!

  23. Poor old thing but looks in reasonable condition for a feral.

  24. Very nice old cat. He looks serious and wise, I like him. Great shot!

  25. How I missed this? This cat looks really 'feral' even if in a composed posture. Beautiful images of a proud 'critter'.

  26. looks like a bobcat to me. At least thats what I first thought. Life is hard on feral cats. Being able to touch him makes me think he belonged to someone at one time.
