This is winter??

.
A mid-afternoon late December sky in Jerusalem.
Shirt-sleeves weather. Unnormal.
For Sky Watch Friday, where many bloggers' skies are now full of snow.
This week we bask in temps of 24 degrees C. Mid-70s F.

Minaret of the Mosque of Omar.
The building on the right is the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

The Crusader bell tower of the Holy Sepulchre.
.
I just sat in the courtyard watching the clouds and the pilgrims go by.

Thank you for your comment about Epiphany. I now understand why is always seems to be the first January Sunday these days when it used to be Jan. 6 when I was small...

  21. Great sky, beautiful images. Are the monks still fighting for that place on the roof of the church?

  22. Shalom friends, welcome to the warm country. Thanks for all your true and nice comments.

Vogon Poet, the Ethiopian monks still manage to hang on to their tiny cells on the roof of the church. But inside the church, clashes still break out from time to time between the various Christian denominations.

  23. Thanks for your answer, Dina. I found your 2008 post interesting and exhaustive, with a bit of due humor!
I'm speechless about the video, I had no doubt that the ladder would be still there.

  24. Thank you for sharing information about the coptic Christians and about Epiphany. You are quite an "equal opportunity" blog with respect to sharing info about all religions!!1

  25. Awesome photos, Dina! Love your angle and you know how I feel about Jerusalem's old and historical stone buildings. Those clouds are mesmerizing too.

I know how you feel about the weather. We're supposed to have 'cold' weather from December to March, but I don't think it'll even last until the end of this month.
