Four-legged public transportation

.
Public transportation for the tourist public

It is a must for tourists in Israel to take a ride on a donkey or camel.
With lots of photos taken, of course.

The City Daily Photo group's Theme Day is about Public Transportation.

Speaking of camels, want a good laugh?
As part of a new publicity campaign, our Ministry of Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs released three video clips gently mocking French, Spanish, and English reporters for their alleged assumptions about the Jewish state. The idea is to teach Israelis traveling abroad or meeting foreign visitors how to counter stereotypes and spread good PR.

  2. Those videos are pretty wild. I wonder what the American video would be.

  5. I have ridden neither on a donkey, nor on a camel. But I have aspirations, Dina. I dream ...

  7. Love the post and the video. Interesting the camel video is spoken by an Englshman but that the solution is spoken by an American.

  8. I'd choose the donkey over the camel any day. I did not like riding a camel at all.

  9. Love the clips, the French one could be used for Italians either.
I skipped riding camels, horses and donkeys but took a lot of pictures of them. Quite often they wanted money for this...

  11. Jesus rode a donkey, too! I guess donkey rides have been popular for a very long, long time in Jerusalem!

  13. I've ridden on elephants and camels. Which is the most uncomfortable is a toss-up. Great photo to add variety to the theme day.

  14. I rode a camel a short distance in the Gobi Desert, Inner Mongolia, but the day before I had bruised my tailbone riding a horse across a plain... so it was a rather painful experience, sitting sideways on my thigh! :-D I watched the video and enjoyed seeing the white camel, but my audio card is not functioning, so I did not hear it. Good post for the transportation theme... Hah! I thought it was tram post...
